Metsäkädet luontoseikkailut Kainuussa ja Pohjois-Karjalassa

What is Metsäkädet?

Metsäkädet organises guided wilderness and craft tours for individuals, groups and companies in Kainuu, Finland.

Metsäkädet was born from the desire to bring new and different nature experiences to my home region for both domestic and international customers.

My hope is to get you to tie wilderness and macramé knots, but also to tie a closer connection to nature, yourself and your own well-being. Maybe you will find a new way to do handcrafts on my excursions, or learn new wilderness skills that will encourage you to dare to make your own new kind of excursions into nature.

Metsäkädet entrepreneur

Hello!

I am Hanne and I am the founder and entrepreneur of Metsäkädet. Iam a wilderness guide and a bachelor of social sciences by education, and my heart beats passionately for handcrafts.

Making things by hand is more than a hobby for me - it's a way to relax, focus and clear my mind of the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether it's tying macramé knots, making a paracourd bracelet, making a feather stick kindlings or even building a quinzhee. I also make my own sleeping bag blankets, phone covers, tent wedges and many other camping accessories by hand. Handcraft skills really do come in handy when you have a hiking hobby!

My background includes a long working experience in the social sector, where I have worked with a wide range of people and in different mentoring roles. During my career, I have also guided groups in making crafts. A few years ago, however, I decided to follow my long-time dream and trained as a wilderness guide. My path then took me to Northern Finland to work as a wilderness guide, but eventually my heart drew me back close to my home region.

In addition to my work as an entrepreneur, my life is completed by my spouse, my sweet old cat and my hobbies. In addition to handcrafts, I swim in summer and winter, collect skiing kilometres, look for new hiking destinations and eat a lot of treats by the campfire.
